    Founded in 2003

    Areim was founded in 2003 by Leif Andersson. The company started as a local operating partner in the Nordic countries for the Blackstone Group.

    Areim Advisory

    In 2005, Areim began working together with the Dutch property company ING Real Estate (today CBRE Global Investors) to create its Nordic Fund.

    Areim has also worked with and advised The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4).

    Areim Fund I

    In 2007, Areim launched its first property fund, Areim Fund I, with a guaranteed capital base of SEK 2.1 billions from three of the world’s largest institutional investors: GIC, ABP and ATP.

    Stockholm Waterfront

    In 2007, the old post terminal building in Stockholm was demolished in order to start the development of Stockholm Waterfront. It was completed in 2011.

    Portfolio of retail properties

    During 2010 and 2011, Areim built up a portfolio of retail properties in large and medium-sized Swedish towns.

    The property Gångaren 10

    During 2011, Areim also acquired the property, LindhagensPorten, aka Gångaren 10, on northwest Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
